Florida is a large state with many wonderful attractions for people of all ages and tastes.  The following are some fun places that you can go in the beautiful Sunshine State.

Disney theme parks – There are few places on earth like the Disney theme parks.  They can provide days of entertainment to children and adults alike.  They contain many rides, some of are thrill rides for older kids and adults such as Space Mountain and some of which are for the kiddies such as It’s a Small World.  There are four main parks at Disney World in Orlando: The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.  

The Magic Kingdom is the home of Cinderella’s castle and a variety of “lands” such as Tomorrowland, Frontierland, etc.  You can ride exciting rides such as Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain and meet the Disney characters such as Minnie Mouse, Goofy and the Disney Princess.  There are numerous shows going on all the time at different locations in the park.  They also have a variety of dining options, including character dining.  Different facets of the park are geared towards different ages so there is something for everyone to enjoy. 

EPCOT is the land of tomorrow.  They have a variety of simulated countries ranging from Mexico to Norway to France, among others, which can give you a taste of what it would truly be like to be in that country.  They have shows and rides such as the exciting Soarin’ where you feel like you are soaring through the air.  They have a large exhibit on the land as well as one that explores the seas and another that explores the prehistoric world.  Disney Hollywood Studios takes you into the world of movies.  You can go on a ride that makes you feel like you are in the movies as well as watch characters like Winnie the Pooh Come to life.  You can go on a simulated backstage tour as well.  The newest of the four parks is Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it teaches you about animals at the same time that it entertains.  You can watch enjoyable shows such as the Lion King and go on a “safari” through Africa (or at least feel like you are).

Kennedy Space Center – The Kennedy Space Center gives you an exciting view into space exploration.  They have many space-related items on display, and you can even see a presentation by a real astronaut.  You will learn about the past, present and future of space exploration.
