Poetry: Christmas spirit

by PearlyredTexas

Created on: December 23, 2009

Out in the barn the horses await, even Christmas to them is a big feeding place.

With all the kiddos riding them during the day,

the night time is down time for the equine family to rest and not play.

But what would appear in the darkness of night, but Jolly St. Nick and his sleigh full of hay and reindeer.

While visions of alfalfa, and coastal stir in their heads,

They stand by their stalls, snorting, whinnying and pawing the ground,

With the anticipation of being fed.

As the jolly fellow unbundles that mound,

With turned up noses in the air, they start to bite each other to determine whom is the winner in the pecking order.

As they enjoy their goodies through and through.

Santa pats them one by one on their heads as he laughs and bellows that wonderful laugh.

Ho-ho-ho, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New year in Texas you all!
