Google AdSense

For no money up front, you can add Google AdSense to your blog.  Before you sign up for AdSense find out if your blog host has any restrictions about ads. Be certain to review carefully the AdSense Terms of Service as well. The Terms of Service clearly outline criteria for placing ads in your blog.  Violations of the terms could result in your account being terminated.  Google AdSense provides you with a publisher number that can be used on your blog, your HubPages account and your Squidoo account if you have them.  Payments are made monthly but only if your account balance reaches $100 for the month ended.  For example, if you reach the payout level of $100 during November, your payment would be made at the end of December.

eBooks

If you have written an eBook you can sell it on your blog for a return on your investment (primarily your time). Other options for eBooks include finding eBooks that are available on a variety of topics through PLR (Private Label Rights) eBooks that you can sell on your website.  You may have to pay a fee to initially purchase the book, or you may find a "bonus" in a PLR article package that you have purchased.  Either way, selling eBooks (that relate to your blog) can be a lucrative business.

Affiliate Marketing

If you are interested in Affiliate Marketing, you can register for one or more Affiliate Marketing programs and promote them on your blog. This can turn into long term passive income for you if you are successful.  Before you decide on an Affiliate Marketing program, make sure you read all of the fine print, as some may have restrictions as to the content that is posted in your blog.  Many people utilize affiliate marketing to earn money from a blog.

Paid Links

If you are interested in promoting businesses by a geographical location, you may want to consider offering paid links as a way to earn money from your blog. If you have a blog that provides relevant copy and is ranked well in search engines, local businesses may be interested in advertising on your blog. For some bloggers this can turn into a very lucrative business.
