The keys to self-empowerment are many and they come in all shapes and sizes.  To understand the keys to self-empowerment, it is most likely beneficial to look at the definition of this two word phrase.  According to Google/Wikipedia, empowerment means to strengthen an individual or communities spiritual, political, economic or financial well-being of sorts.  This is why this writer mentioned in the first sentence that the keys come in all shapes and sizes.  With the world the way it is today, it is important to keep up with such “keys” of empowerment and to practice them as well as apply them each and every day no matter how tough it really can be.

Since the title implies that we are talking about an individual or ourself, then we need to stick with this as the basis of this article.  There are keys to self-empowerment and one of the most important one would be spiritual.  Today, we are finding more and more people walking away from God and not allowing Him to fully perform His works.  People are not allowing God to enter their lives to assist them in their much needed spiritual strength so that they can be successful in business, politics, in the home or on the job.  People are in too much of a hurry these days.  They are in too much of a hurry to make a bundle of money which many believe is the “roots of all evil.”  So, the thing to do is to take step back and take a deep breath and allow God to do His wonders.  Do not abandon Him.  He is an all-knowing, all-powerful God, so He will do what is necessary to allow you to succeed as long as you remember that this is a two way street.  You have to do your share.

Another key to self-empowerment is to know who you are and where are you going in life.  Going from one job to another does not really help you feel confident about yourself.  One of the most important step is to take a long look in the mirror when you get up in the morning and make sure that the image in the mirror is that of yourself.  Ask yourself, “Self, who am I?”  “What is my purpose in life?”  We all do not have to ask these questions, but many do, especially this writer.  When you have no idea where you want to take your life and your successes and your talents, then it is truly difficult to be self-empowered to do much of anything.

Another key to self-empowerment is knowing what it takes to succeed in the manner that you want to.  If you do not know what it will take, then it is again hard to be self-empowered.  In this case, you lose sense of concentration, organization and find yourself kind of drifting off in many different directions.  This is not “healthy” as this can be stressful for you to get back on track.  It is not hard to get back on track, so stay focused on what it is that you have to do to be successful and with God’s help and the help of family, loved ones and friends, you should be ready to be self-empowered.

Being alone does not help with self-empowerment.  Always seek help and answers when you need them.  Then you can most likely work them out on your own if you need to.  Do not be an independent when a situation might call for you to work out a solution with others.  This is why the definition most likely includes the word community.  You can be self-empowered and at the same time be part of a community.  In other words, be self-empowered but at the same time, use it to assist in the overall community of beings.
