A thankful heart can warm you through the night. There is no greater feeling than being supported with an Ultimate love, when you are down. You can feel yourself lifting above the circumstances you have created, immediately. That is when you realize that you are truly at home - that moment when you finally become comfortable in your own skin. You begin to see that Jesus provides you with warmth and protection where ever you go. This protection doesn't come because he gives you a blanket or free food. It follows you in the form of responsibility. The ability to provide for yourself and some around you comes with the ability to make the right decisions. Jesus separates you from your pain and suffering so that they are no longer your obstacle. They have become his burden to bear, and whatever frustrations you encounter will allow him to form you to permit their destruction.
A home is a physical manifestation of what is inside you. The ability to maintain and build upon your domain does not come when someone just gives you a home. There are scriptures to be quoted that could show you examples, but when you take on a thankful heart you can get more from the remnants ungrateful moments in your past. You will begin to see the destruction of loving connections and the failure to develop new ones. You will see the creation of isolation and the fear of your fellow man.
Jesus cures all by filling your heart with the fruit of the Spirit. He doesn't candy coat your problems with obscurity, he helps you derive a plan for triumph with clarity. It is this way that allows a home to manifest from within and without. You may then offer warmth to others or create a family. You can use your immovable platform to launch your dreams. The protection of your inner boundaries and outer walls will allow you to demand a place for yourself in this world. It allows you to channel God into a unique life that can remain steady for all to see. Without being blown where the wind takes you, you will finally be able to stop and smell the roses.
This state of responsibility and confidence is the only way anyone can make an effective decision on how to help someone. Having a home to go to is important, and in gratitude, others may feel like they have to provide parts of their home to others. By doing this, you may be insuring that the person you help will never have a home of their own. Of course things are different for children, nothing said of an adults responsibility should ever be also expected of a child. Stability and structure for a child is as important as love, and in a sense they are love, but providing this for an adult may reinforce to him that he can not do it himself.
