Dear son,
On the day I knew you would be a boy
I shed many tears because of my joy
In the months until you were due
I dreamed of all the things that would ensue
I finally would have a best friend
We’d be thick as thieves until the end
Then that glorious day came about
I jumped for joy and let out a shout
He’s finally here for all to see
My new best friend, my little buddy
When I looked at you and heard you cry
It brought a tear to the corner of my eye
Here is a new life that I have made
I held you up high to be displayed
Look at my son
He is an awesome one
He has all his fingers and his toes
A wonderful life is what follows
As the years go by and you start to grow
I try to teach you all that I know
A fine young man is what I raised
Now everyone can see and be amazed
But now I must go son to the Lord in the sky
When I go son please try not to cry
We lived, we laughed, and made great memories
Remember the rules son and the boundaries
In heaven I will be preparing you a place
And when you come to see me a warm embrace
In heaven we get to do it all again
Forever and ever Amen.
Love, Daddy
