With 2010 upon us a new wave of fashion trends for women is as well. The biggest changes in style for women in 2010 won't be Earth shattering, but they will be noticeable right away. If you've become attached to the Victoria Beckham or Eva Longoria look it's time to update for a new year. To get in step with 2010 fashion trends there will be eight key areas to focus on, so out with the old and in with a bold new year!

The first place to start is with the day bag. Those oversize day bags you could carry a change of clothes in along with anything else that crossed your mind are over! Much to the joy of women that have had sore backs and shoulders for better than a year the small day bag is back. The small day bag may not hold as much, but it accessorizes better, is good day or night, and with convertible shoulder straps it goes anywhere.

Thin girlie dainty jewelry is out. Those tiny hearts and cute little peace symbols may be cute but they have no attitude. For 2010 think big in-your-face rocker jewelry. Big pendants like crosses, skulls, or even vampire inspired designs on thick chains are in. What is going to be especially hot are pendants that have plenty of bling.

Say goodbye to the pointy toed ladylike boots with skinny 3 inch heels. This year you want to move towards biker boots. Boots with buckles and hidden zippers are a plus. Classic Doc Marten designs are exactly what you're shooting for, but a traditional Harley or tanker boot will do just as well.

To go perfectly with those boots you need the right jeans or leggings - and as you guessed there is a new look in town for 2010. Boot cut jeans can go back in the closet and wait for their rebirth, for 2010 the look is going to be relaxed fit jeans. Similarly wide leg pants are going the way of the dinosaur. Those roomy pants may have been comfortable but they do nothing to display the goods. Instead you want to get on board with black leggings. The leggings can be a traditional fabric or the ultra sexy liquid legging style if you feel frisky.

Either relaxed fit jeans or any style of black legging will go well with biker boots for 2010. The good news relaxed fit jeans rolled up to below the knee will look great with heels and show off a toned calf so you can dress up and down at the same time and still be hot. Leggings can be worn with flats, but if you're putting the goods on display go with sky-high heels to get the best effect.
