Best Facial Cleansing Products for All Skin Types
Keeping your facial skin clean and fresh takes a little work, but is worth the effort once you know what products are best for your skin type. There are three different kinds of skin types: oily, dry, and combination (oily & dry) skin. Once you know your facial skin type, finding the right facial cleansing products is easy. Here are some tips for keeping facial skin clean and clear using the best cleansing products meant to enhance your skins elasticity, tone, and appearance.
Oily skin is fairly easy to recognize. Those with oily skin are often prone to breakouts and tend to have large pores creating more blackheads in what's known as the 'T' zone (forehead, nose, and chin). To test and see if you have oily skin, take a Kleenex and blot it over any of these areas. If the Kleenex shows any signs of moisture or oil, chances are you have oily skin. Other signs of oily skin are shiny skin (even after putting on makeup), thick skin, and dull skin. If your facial skin shows signs of a greasy shine, you probably have oily skin. The one great thing about oily skin is that it shows signs of aging the slowest compared to other forms of skin types.
To remedy oily skin, try facial cleansing products that are oil-free and have no additives such as Neutrogena or Aveno. Shine-free facial cleansers such as Clean & Clear Oil-Free Foaming Facial Cleanser are also great for taming oily skin. Be sure to only wash your face a few times a day (with hot water to open up pores and clean them out), although you may be tempted to wash more. Over washing oily skin can actually harm the natural oils in your skin. Follow your cleansing routine with an astringent that will help to combat oily skin. Then, use a mild oil-free moisturizer such as Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer or Biore Minimizing Lightweight Moisturizer SPF 15.
Dry skin can be easily detected by the flakes of skin and dry patches on your face. Dry skin also tends to have some redness from irritation. Overly dry skin is difficult to deal with because sometimes no matter how much moisturizer you use, the dry patches seem to always reappear. You can also detect dry skin because of how it worsens in the winter, yet looks it's best in the summer time. Skin that's dry will feel tight, uncomfortable, and even a little sore when stretched out
