During the day, skin may start to produce oily shine, this is even more so in oily and combination skin. However, with a good facial routine to aid in eliminating shine and tips on how to also control shine if one is wearing makeup, keeping one’s face matte becomes extremely simple and easy to uphold.
Face wash: Using a face wash for oily skin can combat the excess oils on your face so you’ll have less oil build up on your face during the day. Make sure to purchase face wash that is suitable for your skin type. Invest in a good quality face wash from brands such as ‘Clarins’ for a decent price.
Moisturiser: While some may think that skipping out on a moisturiser will make sure that you’ll produce less oil on your skin during the day, yet it really does the opposite. As your skin does not get any moisture, the cells start producing even more oils to make up for the ones that you did not apply beforehand. Again, invest in a good quality moisturiser, preferably oil free so you are not putting on more oils and also one with SPF 15 to protect yourself from the suns ray as this can start making your skin produce more oil.
Blotting Paper: You can purchase blotting paper/tissue from your local drug store or pharmacy. They are small pieces of paper which absorb the excess oils on your face when applied. This will enable you to use them when your face gets oily so you can remove the oil quickly and easily without ruining your makeup.
Powder: If you are wearing makeup, then putting on a final layer of translucent powder or your normal powder to set your makeup will help you achieve a fresher look for longer, this means that any oils being produce will be absorbed by the powder, thus it’ll take a much longer time for the oils to break through that barrier. When you do feel your face getting oily, you can top up another dusting and this will absorb any excess oils.
Talcum Powder: Not many know about this trick, you can apply a light dusting of talcum powder on your skin so it’ll absorb any oils. It lasts an extremely long time and you’ll have matte skin for most if not all of the day. This is great for those who do not wear makeup, using a powder brush and talcum powder to apply a light dusting. You can even use scented fragrances for an excellent smell.
With these tips on how to keep your face looking matte all day, it shouldn’t be at all hard to achieve that matte look all day long.
