This article will explain one of the most important aspects of the nerve-wracking process of finding the 'right' gift for your girlfriend this Christmas and in doing so help you achieve your goal of making you both as happy as possible on Christmas Day! As you read,  please also keep something important in mind you, do know this person, you do share your life with her, if you get this gift choice thing badly wrong, it is definitely evidence to the contrary. So think carefully...

If you are reading this article today the chances are you are starting to feel just a teeny bit desperate. Don't panic though, instead think, really think, about the messages and signals you girlfriend has been beaming at you for the past month. Girls usually try to be subtle about asking for gifts, unless you have been together for very long time in which case they have often become so annoyed by your well-meaning, but sadly way off the mark attempts at the perfect present, that they have already bought, wrapped and stashed their own gift!

Choosing the right gift for you girlfriend is the simplest task in the world as long as you use the most important organs you have got, your ears! Come on guys (and gals) you know what she wants, she has been trying to tell you for weeks. Short of actually, physically dragging you back into the store that contains her heart's desire for the umpteenth time, there is no more she can do.  Now it's up to you, this is your big moment, your chance to prove how different you are, how much you care and just how much you love her (no pressure then!).

Forget all that mushy stuff about the thought counting more than the cost, this does matter and getting it right can make Christmas Day an even happier time, for you in particular, because it really is better to give than to receive. However bear in mind that most loving girlfriends do not want you to get hopelessly in debt in order to make a lavish gesture that will mean you can't even go out for coffee together for the rest of the year. The gift they will have been dropping you hints about is probably pretty modest in price, but the rewards of getting it right it will be priceless! 

Now you have had a few moments to think about the places you have been together over the past few weeks,  the apparently random comments she may have made whilst at the mall, during ad breaks or when reading her favorite magazines. They were not random comments she was making, that was the sound of the wistful wish-list falling soft as snowflakes. Please also keep another important thing in mind -you do know this person, you do share your life with her, if you get this gift choice thing badly wrong, it is definitely evidence to the contrary. So think carefully.

I don't know your girlfriend so I don't know what she wants; therefore, I can't tell you what to buy. I can tell you one thing you should not buy though; 'sexy' lingerie. Because that  gift is not for her is it ? It's for you, and it will just make you look selfish and uncaring. So take it back to the store you bought it from and read this article again!
