Easy Ways To Learn To Meditate


Meditation is the coming together your mind, body and spirit all at the same time.  It is a wonderful experience that fills your day, week even life ,if done regularly , with peace and harmony.  It is very easy to do once a few things are explained on how to do it and also what to look for, and what to expect, with practise it all becomes automatic and you wonder what you ever did without it.

It is said that a 20 minute deep meditation can equal 4 hours of  sleep. Meditation is not a religion, but is used by many religions as part of their rituals, it more a way of life and health.  There are many different ways to meditate and you just need to find the one that suits you the most.

Firstly you will need to find a space in which to meditate.  The space should be comfortable and have a good atmosphere or feel about it.   You can make it more comfortable with dim lighting, candles, cushions and a blanket to keep yourself warm, when you meditate your body's heart rate slows and you could find yourself a bit  chilly. You can have some essential oils burning in an oil burner such as lavender, chamomile, patchouli or white sage.  You can have some soft music playing once you are confident in meditating, or a guided meditation instruction cd when you first start.  You can cleanse your space by burning incense, but if it disturbs you then put it out before you start your meditation.

Here is the way that I found to be the most useful when I first started to meditate, since then I have become a qualified Meditation Teacher.

Firstly purchase a guided visualisation meditation cd or find a script of an easy visualisation meditation and record it onto a cd or tape yourself.  Before starting the tape relax yourself by taking a couple of deep breathes in through your nose and sighing out through your nose. Then just listen and look at your breath by imagining it coming through your nose, going down your  windpipe and into your lungs, see your lungs expanding slowly like a balloon inflating, then see the air leaving your lungs coming up your windpipe and out through your mouth.  Do this for about 5  to 10 minutes before starting your cd - CONGRATULATIONS - You have just done a simple yet very effective meditation.  This is an example of how easy it is to meditate, and this will have a tremendous impact on your whole day, it is an easy way to
