Aroused from an erotic dream
Showered and refreshed
Teeth brushed
Body Perfumed
Anointing myself thoroughly
With sweet smelling oils
Hair oiled, combed and parted
Clad in audacious bikini
Room filled with soft music
Sprayed with air freshener
I dressed my bed as for a Queen
Assorted wines on the mantel piece
He came in drunk again barely noticing me
And within minutes his snores assaulted my ears
Deflated I sagged into the bedside sofa
Another long night of starvation
The twin buds on my bosom crave attention
Oh for somebody to hold me lest I implode
Waist beads lay undisturbed
Farmland lies fallow
Gazelles swollen with milk
Pillow is of no help
Honeywell filled almost dripping
Starving for attention

Mommy
I used to beg you for a hug

So I would

They see how thin I am.
My hair brittle.
My nails splitting.
Now they know I am alive.
They didn't used

This pit in my stomach, will not subside
hankering for something, to feed this pride
A plate of you, or a big bowl of my invention
by Olivia Kay
People pass by as if I'm invisible,
Not a kind word, not even a glance in my direction,
Racing by, too busy to notice, too
