If anyone could have told me then
That now could ever be possible
Scandalized would have been too mild
To describe how I would have felt
But here we are
In each other’s arms
Thunder and lighting
Inseparable
I don’t know how it happened
But you have become my kidney
My heart in your ribcage
Yours beating so lively beneath my breasts
Friends roll their eyes in shock
Could Rita be sane? They asked
Sanity is not the issue here
Love is it
How did he do it? They asked me
What did he whisper into your ears
That replaced your sixth sense
I hate to think about the name they call you
Which we used to call you together
If I am in error with this love
I do not ever want to be right
For not you, but love had me

Only to find that I had nothing to say
For that on this special day
I had found
