Lawn Mowing is vital to your lawns health all throughout of the year. You should vary your mowing frequency and height at which you mow depending on the season.
-Spring; you can mow a little bit shorter now, about 1.5 inches. Make sure you wait at least a week after a strong shower to make sure the lawn is not wet and also to make sure you don't tear up your yard. Frequency; Mow once every 1-2 weeks.
-Summer; As the temperature increases you should raise blade height to about 2 inches. The grass should be growing at a fairly strong clip. However, if the grass starts to die or you hit a heat wave you should considering watering longer or at the very least cut the grass longer up to 2 1/2 inches. Frequency; Mow once every week.
-Fall; As it cools off the height should go down to 2 inches or 1.75. You also should be careful when you decide to mow not to tear any grass up. Frequency; Mow once 3-4 weeks.
-Winter; Now is your time to relax. It is raining often and the grass isn't growing. Mowing your grass now would only serve to damage it. Frequency; Mow once during the winter.
With these simple instructions you should have a great looking and well kept lawn.
