Welcome to Africa my friend, now we are in another dimension: time and space changes their link, a day could endure more than 24 hours. It seems strange to you? Sure but you have to see this place to get this concept. When you will be there, you will see. Morocco has always been a crossroads between Africa, Europe and Middle East, so many cultures are mixed in this territory from north to south you can see an endless sort of people and environments, scents and sounds that permeate everything, especially "the old medinas". Ancient buildings, small streets all around where you can easily get lost, but where the atmosphere is simply indescribable.
One of the best thing in Morocco is the food, you can believe me, I am Italian and also a good cook. A lot of variety of foods: meat, cereals, vegetables, fruit, fishes all genuine and really delightful. I never eat better than in Morocco maybe neither in Italy, cause the ingredients are really natural: no antibiotics or pesticides, especially on the mountains you can smell the perfumes of these extraordinary plates. Obviously, they mix all the foods with a lot of spices, that are also very tasty. You'll enjoy every meal, I am sure.
You can try the soups, sold on the streets in small take away, sharing your meal with local people or you can go to the restaurant to sit down and relax. If you choose to stay in a house with a Moroccan family, where is possible to cook, you can go to the market and buy whatever you want. I suggest you to choose this way of accommodation, so you can feel the real Moroccan's way of life. Otherwise you can choose a riad, (like an hotel) or a pension, All depends on your budget. One thing that you can't miss it's the dry fruit, you'll find that everywhere: peanuts, walnuts, pistachios, almonds, dry apricots, etc, obvious the spices too.
You have a lot of choices there, you can visit the big mountains in the north, Morocco has them in abundance, rising from the Rif into the Middle Atlas and on into the extraordinary contours of the High Atlas, you can choose the cities or the sea or if you want to try the real wilderness obviously you can go to the desert. Where are we going? I guess, on the mountains. A long travel by coaches to get into this new world. Now we are on the mountains and we can breathe the nature, free animals around us, no fences, no big farm where the animals lives in cages, on these wild mountains the animals can go upside down, free to move everywhere.
Little villages all
