Poetry: Holding a grudge

by Karen Williams

Created on: December 18, 2009

I nursed it,

I nourished it,

I tucked it in at night.

I focused on it,

Dwelt upon it,

Held it oh so tight.

I cuddled it,

I coddled it,

My energy I gave -

And now this

Great big grudge I've grown

Has made me...well...

Its slave.
