Poetry: Questions

by Rebecca Write

Created on: December 18, 2009

Moving in slow motion

Events unfold just beyond my fingertips

Blurring in a whirl of wilder waters

As I wash up with the surf

Breathless and fascinated

The shore recedes to the horizon

Stranded things appear

Bubbles in the sand

With rainbows shining in them

A distant force of unseen dimensions

Is rising with the infinite

Quiet now, shhhhhhhhhhhh

This is magic

I exist between the worlds

Life and death are in me

And I in them

Look here, it is time

The ocean herself arises before me

In her beauty and her terror

She eclipses the sun

For this is her reign

And her moment is now

This world I am leaving

Has never been more beautiful

But my heart was made for adventure

And I search for my way

In the fields of Elysium
