Instincts come and leave a feeling
Located in the heart, soul and mind
Sometimes they are ignored
In favor of remaining blind
Instincts try to tell us
When things aren't pure as snow
They are the inner voice that shares
The things we need to know
Truth can be hard to believe
O'er the deafening sounds of lies
Yet if instincts had been followed
The reality is never really a surprise

The children hid
Hoping they were
off the radar grid
If they made no noise
They wouldn't be found
And so suppressed
Trusted instincts
Where are you now?
Me dangling by a thread
Darkness fills
The crack in my skull
Bleeding:
Sounds like water
by Jishi Santos
Instincts are innate and created
within the design of living being,
many genes are inter-related
to build the instincts

My heart has whispered your name,
In a place where no one can hear.
The sound of it quieter than air,
Is lifted away
