Mac is known for their video editing capabilities, not their gaming performance. Being an Information Technologist and a PC Gamer, I have had the opportunity to experiment with both a Mac and a PC and their individual capabilities.

Of course its not only the software that has been contemplated in this question, most of us have to look at the video cards used inside the PC and its many other contributors to a great system for gaming purposes.

Video cards inside the PC have gotten so large in capacity over the past 5 years. Who would have known that some would require there own power supply, and cooling system?. This is great for those who enjoy Blue-Ray or an HD experience when gaming. This new technology could not be put into just any system, the PC would have to have the capabilities to support a video card of that speed and quality.

Most computer software on the market also is based around Microsoft, which is not compatible with Mac OS (operating system). So as you see this places emphasis on PC being the best computer for gamers. If someone is looking to purchase a system for gaming, well there are a few things we as consumers must look for. The first is the speed of the CPU and its compatibility with the graphics card. The second is the amount of RAM in the system for speed, and quality game play. The third is allotted hard drive space for gaming. I must tell you the high quality games on the market now require a lot of space on a hard drive, so with this in mind PC was designed for that purpose.

Mac on the other hand has other great advantages, like their video editing capabilities, the operating system being more reliable than PC, and stronger firewall protection against viruses and security threats.

The downfall for Mac currently is the cost of a Computer with the same capabilities of a PC, you would be looking at triple the price. The Market is just not there for Mac. Today a PC built for top of the line gaming would cost an individual approximately 1200.00.

My best advice to everyone looking to purchase a computer for gaming would be, PC is not as costly and you have the option of more gaming software so take the chance on PC. It is by far the better gaming system.
