The Motorola Droid is fast becoming one of the most sought after high-end gadgets of this year, and will most likely dominate the market for 2010 too. It is certainly a fierce competition for the Apple iPhone, that's for sure. The Motorola Droid runs on the Android operating system, that runs on the Linux server. This in itself makes the Droid stand out from other similar phones on the market. It has a powerful and also reliable operating system as well as being extremely innovative.

So, assuming you've bought yourself the Motorola Droid, you may want some extra information on voice dialing. Obviously you can get this information yourself from the guide that came with your Motorola Droid, but for some, the information provided is not always as adequate as you'd like. It can be quite daunting for a technophobe to figure out all of the different functions of such a high tech gadget, but, in reality it couldn't be simpler! Here are some useful tips and snippets of information that may help you on your way to figuring out the voice dialing function.

Depending on your preference, there are several ways to voice dial from your Android phone. All of them are reliable and very simple to use. One of the methods for voice dialing is probably slightly easier to use for the technophobes among you, but there is really nothing to be worried about! The two main methods that can be used to voice dial from your Motorola Droid are: Using Google Voice Search, and secondly, the Voice Dialer application that is already pre-installed onto the device.

Using Google Voice Search couldn't be simpler. Firstly, locate the magnifying glass on the home screen of your Droid. You do this by pressing the touch interface. The next thing that you need to do is to locate and then press the microphone icon on the Google search bar. You will be prompted o speak, and this is the point where you need to state who it is that you actually want to call. To do this, you are required to say "Call (name)". If a voice match is found then Google will automatically proceed to call the requested contact. The main thing to stress here is that you need to speak clearly. It's a good idea to pause between names and commands to ensure that the contact can be found. It needs to be slow and clear for Google to be able to find it!

The second option, and possible the easiest, is to use the built in Voice Dialer application. Unless you have added the application icon to the home screen of your Motorola Android then you will need to locate it. This couldn't be simpler, just open up the applications menu and then press 'Voice Dialer' on the touch interface. Once the application has opened and loaded you are required to command the Droid to call a contact. Again, to do this you need to say "Call (name)". You can also use the word dial instead of call as it will still work in the same way. Once you have stated your request the Droid will bring up any matching contacts. To initiate the call, you simply touch the screen to acknowledge the correct number and the call will start. These are the main ways to use voice dialing, and both are incredibly convenient and stress free!
