Terminology can be tricky. Sometimes we say one thing when we really mean another. Take “green jobs” for instance. What is the definition anyway? While jobs making wind turbines or solar panels seem to garner solid support, the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) suggests that there are no real standards for what constitutes a green job.

The same is true for “job search engines.” Unfortunately, when you ask people to suggest those they think are the best they tend to gravitate toward career websites such as Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com or HotJobs.com and the engines that specifically drive the search through their list of posted openings. And while according to the Encarta World English Dictionary a search engine is “a computer program that searches for specific words and returns a list of documents in which they were found,” it just seems that the best job search engines for green jobs should be something more.

That being said, if your goal is to focus on finding the best job search engines that will lead you to the best green jobs regardless of where they are posted, then you will likely want something a little different than the big three.
