Poetry: Nothing

by Akaninyene Umoh

Created on: December 16, 2009

Obscurity fabricates nullity,

with a good significance of nothing,

Like deep dreams where we tour the world,

but only to wakeup to nothing,

And far in it, there's a zero,

that land us in baubles,

For no matter how we tear up "Nothing"

we'll stil end up with "No thing".

I took my strenght and invested in nothing,

And hope it will come out with something,

I walk the world mocking at my friends,

that soon i will stand out for something,

Feeling rest assured, i relax and rest,

that atleast it will flow in with blessing,

with faith in place, i've waited and wait,

but stil it has showed up with nothing.

Years have gone and my patience have died,

but then, i have nothing to show,

I'm restless and ill, searching left and right,

All with an answer to nought,

Now here i stand till posing with nothing,

cause nothing is left to do,

I'm naught, I'm trash, I'm cipher, I'm no one,

But stil all boil down to zero,

Home and abroad i've just realised,

that i'm a complete product of nothing.
