How still the night is, how frozen the earth,
How pale is the moon as it dips in the surf,
How tranquil the tide as it eddies and flows,
How cold is the sea as it teases my toes,
How limp is my hair as it clings to my face,
How still is my mind, no thought of disgrace,
How warm is the call that carries me on,
How free is my soul; all worries are gone,
How deep is the sea as it beckons to me,
How dull are my eyes, no life do they see,
How light are my feet as they catch at the foam,
How glad is my heart as it longs for a home,
How lost is my love; no comfort or crumb,
How still beats my heart; totally numb.

Nothing to whimper

A life who glows within death's stable
