The Shifting Tides
The fog covered the mountain tops and hid the peaks. There would be no sun in Witheria today. The air was moist. The dew that once twinkled like diamonds from the sun's reflection lie dull on everything that it rest upon. The life that was vibrant throughout the Ancient Hencan Forest, was resting on this gloomy day. The only sounds that fill the air are the rustling of the leaves dancing ever so gracefully in the light breeze.
Knovack awoke from his deep slumber. His eyes barely open as he sat up and stretched. He shook is head and tried to wake himself up. Sitting on his duck feathered mattress, he tried to recollect the things he had done in the night. He seemed unable to remember coming home in the night. "The waters are behaving rather violently, and when the water behaves this way, some form of old magic is nearby. We have to figure out how old the magic is so we know what we are up against."
The two headed back to the barn to drop off their gear and would head over to Yiba and go through the magical archives. They prepared a little napsack to take with them since the journey would take two or three suns to reach their destination.
During their journey to Yiba, Fandra explained to Romulus the ways of ancient and old magic used by members of the arcane, white, black, and red magic. Romulus listened intensely as Fandra explained the mysteries of magic. Romulus had known of ancient magic from listening to his Great Great Great Tomir's stories, but he thought the ways of the ancient was over.
During the journey to Tomir, Romulus listened to the
