Some wounds never heal...
I've known him since he was a boy
A kind and gentle soul
Always helpful and polite
To be a singer was his goal
He'd sing for anyone who'd listen
even kids at school
but they all called him hurtful names
and labeled him a fool
Bullied, bashed and terrified
his mind grew ill with pain
and though he tried to fit in
all his efforts were in vain
Now thirty two he's still a boy
with dreams to sing and dance
but caught up in a system
where he doesn't stand a chance
Drugged to calm his nerves
and keep the demons from his head
he doesn't live here in this world
but in his own instead
It saddens me that innocence
and dreams are stripped away
just because of differences
some special kids display...
