Soul-searching
It’s lonely when I look inside
Because all is there to see.
It matters not how much I’ve lied,
I can not lie to me.
What I’ve done, is what I’ve done;
There’s nothing I can change,
Though many things I’d start anew
If my life could rearrange.
I’d love my wife even more
Than what she’s always known.
More time I’d spend with the kids
Before they’re fully grown.
I’d try to make our country church
My special second home.
And know the Bible in its depth.
It’s more than a simple tome.
I’d try to open wide my heart
And let more people in.
And share with all my worldly goods
To atone for all my sin.

Realizing I had
