For many, losing weight is a life goal. To achieve that goal, one must burn calories. Burning calories effectively requires several things; a good cardiovascular exercise regime is one thing, reducing your intake of high calorie foods is another, as is a fast metabolism.
The best way to lose weight is to start exercising more often. Doctors recommend 30 minutes of exercise three to four times a week. This can be something as little as walking or as intense as boxercise.
One should pick how they exercise based on their weight. For example, a larger individual might benefit from walking to begin with. As they lose weight, they can try more intense work outs and exercises.
A good way to keep the body burning calories is to bring some variety into your exercise regimes. The body can get used to certain work-outs, making them less effective. By simply changing what you are doing every other work-out, the body can't get used to anything and keeps burning off those calories.
Some fantastic calorie burning cardiovascular exercises include:
Swimming – Swimming is excellent for all weight types, there is virtually no stressful impact on joints which eliminates the possibility of injury. Also, because swimming requires the movement of the whole body, it will burn more calories and help to tone up more areas on your body than other exercises might. Swimming also tends to be a little less boring than walking or running.
Running – Running is a great way to burn calories. It can cause impact injuries on the ankles and legs of larger individuals who might be better suited to walking, swimming or cycling. However, for those of a lesser weight, running burns off a lot of calories in a short time and is therefore incredibly effective and efficient as a form of exercise.
Walking – This is something so simple and easy to do that everyone should be doing it. Walk with your partner, or take the dog out for 30 minutes every other day and hit the minimum exercise requirements. Larger individuals will find this form of exercise is easy on their joints and won't cause injury and can be a great way to start off an exercise regime.
Cycling – Cycling is such a fun way to burn calories. It is great for every individual because the work out can be as intense as you want it to be. By simply changing the gears on a bike, or changing the cycling route, one can tailor their work out so it suits them. Cycling does require a bike so can be more expensive than other forms
