Yes I am the man behind the wheel of that car
After a heavy night of drinking at the bar
I ran a stop sign as you can see
I hit another car and injured them and me
I got to walk away with barely a scar
They wound up dead because I went to the bar
Now a life of misery is my fate
My night of drinking at the bar I truly hate
No Christmas the same ever again
Cause their loved ones will remember way back when
They could open presents together, laugh and play
But now to me it’s just another miserable day
Never a day goes by I don’t regret
Getting behind the wheel after drinking makes me upset
But who am I, to have a say
I took their innocent lives, all away
All because I got behind the wheel of my car
After a heavy night of drinking at the bar.
Now my liver is failing because it’s enlarged
I was an alcoholic and found guilty as charged!
