5 Great ways to show employee appreciation
Feeling valued plays an important role in how satisfied people feel about their jobs. Appreciating your staff is critical to the success of every business. It raises moral, generates productivity and creates an ideal work relationship for the entire organization.
Do you want to show appreciation for you staff ? Are you looking for ways to raise moral with your workers? Here are 5 great ways to show employee appreciation.
1.)actively acknowledge and praise:
Always catch people doing something right! When you notice good behaviors, and first-class work, validate it! It sounds simple yet, so many bosses are frugal with handing out the compliments. They may feel that praising their workers makes them look weak, or that it might go to the employees head.
When you praise your workers it creates a positive and healthy work environment and will build up confidence. Always be on the lookout for opportunities to praise. When you praise a job well done, it is more likely that the employees will want to repeat those good behaviors because they are aware that you notice. A little praise goes a long way, and best of all it won’t cost you a dime.
2.) Show compassion: Every human being at one time or another is going to go through periods in their personal lives that may require the boss to be flexible about normal standards and expectations.Offering consideration, kindness, and empathy will show your staff that you appreciate them. We are not talking about people using a variety of excuses, and walking all over the rules on a regular basis.
When employees experience crisis in their personal lives, they will sincerely appreciate the support from employers that assist in this time of need.
3.)Renovate the break area
You can show employee appreciation for your entire staff by remodeling the break area. Try some fresh paint, new chairs or tables, and refresh the counter tops, to renew a tired area! Maybe you can add a bulletin board, put a TV or computer in there, or a couch for comfort. In general, give the area an updated look and feel.
When you take time to put some energy into the break area, you show appreciation for your employees.
4.) Reward
The best way to say job well done, and, I appreciated you, is with cold hard cash. Nothing says I love you like the sight of those greenbacks coming your way! If your business is doing well, the people that helped achieve that success should be rewarded.
By offering monetary rewards, your employees will be more motivated to achieve that success again.
5.) Have a shin-dig
Have a shin-dig, a wing-ding, a toga party, or a pizza party! You can show you staff appreciation by going out, and having some rest and relaxation time to blow off steam, and to connect with your staff on another level. This can be a fun experience that will show your gratitude for their efforts.
Having a party is a great way to show appreciation for your employees and will let workers spend some fun time together outside the workplace.
Attaining a loyal and productive staff is easy when you show your employees that they are valued! Giving consistent praise, showing empathy, throwing a staff party, remodeling the break room, and offering monetary compensation, are 5 really great ways to show your employees appreciation.
