Are you looking into buying a BMW? If so here are a few things to consider. Please remember that these are some of the best cars on the planet! They do require a few more repairs than a Honda or Toyota may. They retaing their resale value exceptionally well. BMW requires that you put a higher octane fuel in. If the cost of the higher priced fuel is of concern to you then you do not want to buy one of these cars. The cost of the repairs is much more than other cars but if you are even a little handy then you can save a lot of money on repairs, the cost of the labor is what will get you. Newer BMW's have a diagnostic computer onboard that will keep you abreast of the goings on with your new, or, new to you car. Studies in Consumer Reports show that the 3 series has fewer problems than the 5 series, which have less problems than the 7 series. The higher the series it seems the more problems and less reliable. I have an 1997 M3. It is very fast, and reliable. It is a 4 door sedan and it comes standard with all power options, bells, and whistles. My parents own a 323 convertible and they simply adore the car. Just remember that the best advice on buying a new or new to you car is to talk to someone, or ones that own the car you are looking at. Even if that means when you see one at the gas station you ask them how the car is and how they like it. A usefull resource I have found is Consumer Reports, once you find a car you like and others have recomended check the report on it, they will give you all the "ins and outs" of that car and give you a good idea of how well it will last you. Always remember to do your homework before you make an investment on something as large as a vehicle.... DON'T LET SOME PUSHY SALES PERSON "MAKE THE SALE ON YOU"
