Logos: Link between man and God

Created on: December 14, 2009

The question is: How is Logos: Link between man and God?

What or who is Logos? The Encyclopedia Britannica defines “logos” as:

(Greek: “word,” “reason,” “plan”) In Greek philosophy and theology, the divine reason that orders the cosmos and gives it form and meaning. The concept is found in the  writings of Heracleitus (6th century BC) and in Persian, Indian, and Egyptian  philosophical and theological systems as well. It is particularly significant in Christian theology, where it is used to describe the role of Jesus as the principle of God active in   the creation and ordering of the cosmos and in the revelation of the divine plan of salvation. This is most clearly stated in the Gospel of John the Apostle, which identifies Christ as the Word (Logos) made flesh.

John 1:1 tells us that in the beginning (and throughout Old Testament time) was the WORD (Logos), and the WORD (Logos) was with God, and the WORD (Logos) was God. In other words; in the beginning was the ONE God, Yahweh Elohim, and (it) His Word the LOGOS. God created all things through and by His WORD, the LOGOS. God spoke and it was.

Then in John 1:2 it says: “He was in the beginning with God.” Who is the “he” in John 1:2? The answer is given in John 1:14 where it tells us that “the WORD became FLESH.” IT the WORD of God BECAME HE Jesus, the SON of God.

In other words, the LOGOS is the link between man and God, when the LOGOS (it the WORD of God) became JESUS (He the SON of God) in the “fullness of time,” 2000 years ago.

How did the WORD of God become the SON of God? Through an “incarnation” as is traditionally taught in Roman Catholic Trinitarian mythology? Not at all! Here is what Matthew tells us: “Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit.” Mary was impregnated by God, when God through the power of His Holy Spirit deposited His WORD (seed, sperm) into Mary, and nine month later (it) the WORD of God became (he) the SON of God – Jesus.

Jesus came into the world not through the mystery of an “incarnation!” No, He came into the world through a process known as “procreation,” a very familiar process because we all
