Poetry: Cranberry sauce

Sauce for the Goose

Who has put forth the grace of this page?
The maker of a tree that holds therein its seed
That it may raise up unto itself its own kind
A heritage, a glade, a forest with shade

Who has let forth laughter to raise unto itself laughter?
The Dodo bird, Ostrich and the Penguin
The maker of birds with knowledge and grace to fly
but struggle to take off and tumble like a ball when they try to land

Who has proclaimed that brilliance be joined with warmth
and the sky that it may have a place for all to see?
Then gave it rest at night with a sister to be
And surrounded them with an audience for His glory

Who has brought forth honey for the bees to nest therein?
And milk for the breast that it may feed
Notes for the music to be played
Webs that the spider may weave

Who has given love to raise unto itself love
and its need to be given more than taken?
Pain and fear cannot stop its remembering
and even death cannot stop its resolve

All that abounds that it may abound
comes from you, Lord, but I am at a loss,
why, whereof, where-to-for is there a need for,
my dear Lord; Cranberry Sauce?
