In an era where it is no longer shocking to hear about celebrity death pools involving wagering goes on over which celebrity is likely to die next, premature death among young celebrities is no more of a surprise than premature death among young non celebrities. Why is that? Because of the drug and alcohol abuse that is a problem for all young adults in the developed world. Todays drug and alcohol abuse problems are bad enough that young people are dying from acohol poisoning. Alcohol poisoning is something that takes a determined effort that goes on long after a person is so inebriated that they cannot  function.

If basic inebration is that out of control, then no one can expect a long life expectancy for those who can get any type of drug, from designer drugs to doctor prescribed drugs that are the same thing that anesthesiologists use to put patients under during major surgery, as with Michael Jackson.n. All drugs have a cost, whether it is wear and tear on the heart, permanent changes to the brain, or damage to the liver and other organs and systems of the body. The side effects of most prescription drugs are enough to scare most of us away from using them, but the drug cartels are not so well regulated and polite as to warn a client about any problems with their products.

 While Heath Legder is believed to have overcome a previous abuse problem, nothing could have stopped him from forgetting that he took a heavy dose of a serious, but common prescription drug, then dosing himself with a double, or maybe even triple load of enough chemistry to kill himself unintentionally. Anna Nicole Smith certainly never intended for her son or herself to die from drug mismanagement and abuse, but they were both in a downward spiral that, while shocking, was not so shocking when the truth was revealed from the autopsies.

Lindsay Lohan is out of control because of more than her drug abuse. She clearly has behavioral issues that are not being treated. After a certain age, it is unlikely that her issues can be treated unless she falls into such a state that she is forced into long term care and supervision. She is a person who was destined to demonstrate problematic behavior, whether she incurred a drug abuse problem or not. If not drugs, then alcohol abuse. If not acohol abuse, then unprotected sex or other risky behavior would have manifested. Probably a combination of the three will be the cause of her demise, but without  thorough and permanent success in setting the harmful substances aside, she will cause enough permanent damage to her body to practically insure a premature death or permanent debilitation.

One thing that makes it  likely for an early death sentence among celebrities is that they have access to as much as they want, when they want it and as often as they want it. Because of disparate drug sentencing laws, they rarely go to prison for years for having far worse drug habits than the pot smokers who spend far more jail time. Excess will kill the young celebrity much sooner, just because they can afford to buy the assistance and the material to do everything to excess.

Given the expensive drugs, the speed of expensive cars, the ability to travel anywhere, the access to unlimited amounts of powerful alcohol that costs a lot more than beer, and given the ability to take risks that very few can afford, all bets are off as to who will beat Lindsay Lohan to the funeral parlor, because all young celebrities are at risk, whether the public finds out if they have been "out of control" or not, as with Tiger Woods, who has been living a completely different life than we expected.
