Twin flames are a number of different things to one another. These can be differentiated from soul mates by an absence of karmic relativity between the twin flames. Soul mates love one another with intent to release a karmic bond at the spiritual level, whereas a twin flame can work towards a non-karmic relationship overall. While these may not be conscious thoughts, these are what the conscious spirit will find at its deepest levels, and also at its highest levels.
A twin flame will love someone regardless of what it takes to do so, yet while staying within the simple boundaries of what is harmless to one's partner. Each of the twin flames will work things out with the intent to love the other in an eternal bond. This is to say, not just for a moment of spiritual weakness, but with forever in mind, and with this as the intent. This love is without the betrayal that some soul mate relationships would also bring.
As with soul mate and other relationships, a twin flame does not necessarily have to be in the sense of a boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife relationship for it to go on and to last, although it can be. It can change throughout the span of a lifetime to entail the ranges of what a truly deep, bonding, and lasting relationship can bring.
In looking at the twin flame relationship, it will be seen at the spiritual level in the sense of what it clearly is. For those that believe the truth of what spending an eternity together will bring, it could, and likely will encompass the relationship incarnating into many forms.
In one form it will be that of a parent and child, in another, it is a deeply bonded relationship between two women or two men, in yet another, it is that of a brother and sister, and then even that of a husband and wife deeply in love. Yet, at the same time, it is all together in one place in the here and now. It is all of these things, and yet none of them at all.
A true twin flame relationship often has no words to explain that its history is bonded in some way that still says, "It can be no one else's history but our own, we two are unique to one another", regardless of what this history is. Yet, it can still say that this is the future that we've bonded for, and yet not just for today, but forever.
