Robert Pattinson is most recognizable for the coveted role of Edward Cullen in the incredibly popular Twilight series adapted from Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight trilogy.

Born on May 13, 1986 in London England Robert Pattinson began his acting career in his early teens when he joined the Barnes Theater Company. In fact, Robert initially joined the theater company as a result of his father’s prompting.

It was Robert Pattinson’s father, Richard, who advised that the theater was the best place to meet pretty girls.

Robert began working backstage at the Barnes Theater Company in 2001. A short time later he secured several acting roles with the theater. His photogenic looks, natural acting ability and charming demeanor repeatedly won audiences over and earned him rave reviews.

Eventually Robert was offered additional theatrical roles in various plays including the ever popular Tess of the D’Uberville. These roles eventually led to small film roles and ultimately to his big break.

In 2003, Robert’s passion and raw talent attracted the attention of Mike Newell the director of Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire.  Mike Newell recognized the intensity and drive that Robert had for his new found career and within a week of their initial meeting offered Robert the role of Cedric Diggory.  Robert Pattinson’s career in Hollywood was officially launched when Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire captivated audiences around the globe. 

As a result of Robert’s stunning performance he was quickly named the British Star of Tomorrow by The Times.  A short time later Robert Pattinson reprised the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

The Harry Potter films were only the tip of the iceberg for the relatively young Robert Pattison.  After the release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Robert auditioned for the role of Edward Cullen, one of the lead characters in the Twilight books. 

When the Twilight movie was released on November 28, 2008 Robert Pattinson quickly became a household name.  His popularity and fan base has only grown in size and number and he is currently at an all time high popularity-wise with the release of the immensely successful Twilight sequel New Moon.  Next on Robert Pattison’s credited list of films is the highly anticipated Eclipse which is the third book in the Twilight series.

In addition to his coveted and spectacular roles in the Harry Potter and Twilight films, Robert can also be seen in additional films including Little Ashes, How To Be and The Summer House.

Other than acting Robert Pattinson has demonstrated a passion for music and plays both the guitar and piano.

It is clear that his talent is not limited to acting as he regularly composes his own music and is a singer on the Twilight soundtrack. Robert’s musical talents can be heard on two Twilight songs “Never Think” and “Let Me Sign” as well as on three songs for the soundtrack of the film How To Be.

Robert Pattinson has quickly established himself an A-list actor with the acting ability and star quality necessary to generate a massive fan base leading to blockbuster hits around the globe.
