The male is partly at fault for same-sexual behavior in females. Eve fell to temptation from the serpent and ate forbidden fruit first.  However, Adam ate, too.  Adam partook because he wanted Eve to not suffer alone. Naturally, religious fantasy will do nothing to answer this question.  Nevertheless, religion plays a big role in formulation of beliefs, mistaken or otherwise.

The belief also makes males are more expendable than females; since women bear future humanity in form of fetus; has not changed since the beginning of time.  If we want to survive as a society, this may be regarded as a valid belief.  This may be the reason some males prefer to function socially as females.  Security needs become more easily met as a female.

Some things in life are chosen; some are not.  Reproductive parts are not chosen unless a person elects surgery.  Sexual orientation is behavioral choice as much as is cigarette smoking. For example, parents in a cigarette smoking home are more likely to raise cigarette smokers.  The child models parental behavior.  Cigarette smoking (a self abusive activity, therefore insane) is seen by the child as a way to do life. If anyone remembers his or her first cigarette, it is regarded an uncomfortable, unnatural experience.  It is simply monkey see, monkey seen as credible, monkey do.

Parents influence desires and drives in children.  If the male parent is negative toward the female parent in the presence of the male child, (and the child gives credibility to the male parent) the child will learn to be mean towards females.  In this way, male attitudes affect lesbianism, since nobody wishes to be treated badly, regardless of sex parts.

So, male attitudes affect lesbianism as much as a female allows herself to be affected.  Revulsion from males may indirectly lead to attraction toward females.  However, this misinterpreted “attraction” is really compensation for unmet (opposite sex) belonging needs.

A hopelessly cigarette-addicted person will compromise values in order to satisfy craving.  A female hurt in an opposite sex relationship will look to another gender to satisfy needs.  The reason male attitude does not enter into female choice is that everyone has opportunity to forgive hurt.  Once healing happens, male attitude loses power over female choice.

Yes, generally speaking, males are raised to be more callous and insensitive in their attentiveness to female need.  This truth is not, however, justification or rationale for individual choice.  This reasoning makes about as much sense as an adult child blaming his or her parents for contraction of emphysema.
