The times are tough with the economy changing, it is hard to buy things you want when you are either laid off or not making enough to make ends meet. If you’re a book lover and love to read you may not be able to afford to buy books. There are options out there for you; you can consider downloading free ebooks to your computer or handheld device. They also have the software for free online so you will be able to read and view your ebooks. The most popular format is called PDF (portable document format) and that is from Adobe. There are a few places on the net were you can download them for free instead of buying them. Here are a few places I have found for you.

http://www.freebyte.com you can either download or view them online, on this site you have to use their program called Tree-Pad Viewer program and it is free. This site has an online library section were you can click on the many links to different Ebooks; plus there are free sports, literature ebooks, plus a section to click on for various free ebooks also they have free photo albums. If you have created your own ebook you can even submit it their site.

If you are looking for top quality free ebooks than this is the site for you http://www.ebookdirectory.com you can access thousands of ebooks by simply browsing the various categories. They have tons of books on business, children’s books, literature, computers and Internet etc. You can also find information on how to publish your own ebook; all you have to do is go to the ebook publishing and software resource section in the Directory.

Scribd.com is another site were you can publish or discuss or even discuss your writing or documents or other users. Scribd is a free site but you do need to sign up which is also free to do. They have tons of books, from children’s literature, fiction, non-fiction, romance, travel, religion and spirituality, plus they have brochures & catalogs, business & Law, Creative writing, government documents, magazines and newspapers and tons more for you to be able to read for free. They also have an online store were you can purchase ebooks and they are labeled with a buy now button so you would no if they are to be bought instead of free downloads.

Dailylit.com is another good site to use for free ebooks, they send you the ebooks right into your inbox they send them to you in a convenient small message that takes less then 5 minutes to read. If you just want to read a book you don’t need to register but if you want to participate in their forums then you do need to register. You don’t have to create a new username either you could use your facebook, google, twitter user information. You can browser the books on the site by author, title, category or date added; they have from adventure, to autobiography, cooking, crime, drama and tons more. After going through this site I think I would definitely use this one, they have loads of books online.
