The history of Project Linus
When I was in the Tenth grade I was going to Harker Heights High School In Harker Heights, Texas and I was in a project Linus club…The main mission of the project Linus club was to provide love, security, comfort and warmth to children who are seriously ill, or traumatized to receive a handmade blanket from the club members who are also known as the “Blanketeers”. Whether the blankets were crocheted, kitted, or quilts it did not matter. That year we helped a lot of children get through whatever they were going through. The Project Linus club is also very rewarding and fulfilling for all individuals involved.

Website states that so far “Project Linus has donated over 2,600,000 blankets worldwide to children from 1995 til September 2004. So just imagine how many blankets have been donated since then Since Project Linus is a non-profit organization they rely on volunteers to help and also for some donations of yarn, felt, material, needles, crochet hooks, etc. Also some chapters hold fundraisers to help fund for the needs of the chapter. The short amount of time that I was a part of the Project Linus club in Harker Heights I enjoyed every moment of it. I love trying to make a difference in someone else’s life as well as helping people. I would love to be a part of a different Project Linus Club soon or even start up a chapter of my own in my area.
