People that are new to freelancing often find it amazing that some more established writers can spew out an article in less than twenty minutes. At that rate it is possible to write an average of 15 articles a day.
If this concept blows your mind, check out these simple steps to writing lots of articles quickly without sacrificing on quality, of course.
Write On One Topic at a Time
This may seem obvious, but lots of people jump from topic to topic and have to take some time to do a bit of research in between which slows down the process. For instance, if you have a few articles on debt to complete, it is better to finish them off in a batch than to do one and then start writing on something completely unrelated, like fashion or home interiors.
Separate Research and Writing
Researching for articles and writing articles are two completely separate functions and they should be treated as such. It is fine to make preliminary notes while researching, but you attempting to write while researching causes you to move slowly.
Jot Down Main Points
Writing is easier and less intimidating if you set small targets. Instead of being faced with a completely blank page, you will instead have a series of smaller points to flesh out. This strategy makes it easy to write an article of about 400 words in a short space of time. Once the main points are filled in, you can go back and write a catchy introduction and a conclusion that ties it all together.
Editing is Not a Part of Writing
Stopping to edit in the middle of writing complicates the process unnecessarily. It is far better to edit when the entire article is complete than it is to stop in the middle because a sentence has an odd flow or a word doesn’t seem right. Keep the editing until the end when you can focus on what is best for the purpose of the piece and when you are in the writing mode, simply write.
Work in an Area with Minimal Distractions
Finally, it is important to have a dedicated space to work. Even if this space is the corner of a room or a dual purpose office, you should have somewhere that is easy to block out all distractions and focus on the task at hand.
So hopefully the secret to writing lots of articles quickly without sacrificing on quality has been demystified. Any writer can adopt these tips into their writing routines and increase their output substantially.
