I had always hoped
A kind and handsome knight
Would rescue me from the
Dark and scary world of
Loneliness and confusion.
Fantasies learned in childhood
Was my desired reality.
I had always hoped
To be loved for who I am
Not some mythical creature
Displayed in fashion magazines
Or some man’s unattainable fantasy.
Being confident
If they truly got to know me
They would love me.
I had always hoped
To be respected for my knowledge
My kindness and generosity
Only to learn people will hate you
Because you display those traits.
I had always hoped
That mankind would do better
In their relationships with one another
In changing their negative behavior
In striving for peace.
I still do hope.
I will always hope.

by Sarah Terzo
I dream of swimming up
through a velvet ocean,
ascending towards the purple dawn.
Sometimes when I reflect upon my life
it seems
I live and fly on the wings of hope!
For hope is mine in hopeless scope
The reason why is easy and clear

Dearest Loving Soul

See flowers
In the gardens
Of words
Under which
Rivers of heaven
Flow
Dearest
I will always hope that one day,
A flame will lit like a burning zone,
Passing through a triumphant way,
To renew
