A Perfect Selection

I rise unto thee by lightning of a dream
by a streaking star and the glow of its beam
I give unto thee a heart polished in fire
to shine with love and radiance of desire

I decree the birds to teach thee songs of mirth
I deploy companions to guide thee from birth
I call upon the breeze to groom thy way
and the dew to glisten thy path that thou play

I raise mountains as beacons of my glory
And spread forth the vine to tell of the story
I bring forth trials and sorrows that thou know
Of the greatness of pleasures that I will sow

I place in thee coves that thy nurturing might
be a shadow from evil’s bright burning light
I designed into thee compassion and strength
to uphold thy softness and thy age of length

I decree that unto thee thunders of sea
by roaring of waves that crash in the spree
will praise thy birthright and ordained selection,
awakening as my daughter, in perfection
