Poetry: Out of my mind

They say that insanity is some sort of a calamity,
But I like to say it's a part of my shining vanity,
And your just blind because of your sanity,
So why don't you let me be and stand away?

I just might crack loose with a machete;
I just might break out with language none too steady.
I can and will do circles around the imaginary;
I can and will do strange things that are petty.

They say that insanity is some sort of a calamity,
But I like to say it's a part of my shining vanity,
And your just blind because of your sanity,
So why don't you let me be and stand away?

Can you see that crazy gleam in my eyes?
Can you read between the lines of my lies?
Can you tell when I am about to strike illusions and magpies?
Can you smell the fear that I cause to rise?

They say that insanity is some sort of a calamity,
But I like to say it's a part of my shining vanity,
And your just blind because of your sanity,
So why don't you let me be and stand away?
