The triangular responsibility for student development is shared by the stakeholders - the teacher, the student and the parents.  Even though all the three are involved in it, the unenviable task of carrying the greater burden lies with the teacher only. He definitely won't mind doing it, as long as the other two partners contribute their shares in reasonable measures. His expectation here would be more from the parents than from the student himself, for the simple reason that he has a regular contact and so a reasonable control over his student which often is missing with the parents. You won't regret later.

Do impress upon your child the crucial importance of the teacher for his/her education. A student may not learn even this basic courtesy unless advised and trained on these lines by his parents.

Do motivate your child to pay close attention to the teacher's instructions as well as his advice.  This will get immense benefits for the child not only in academic matters but also in other non-academic matters like selecting
