A lot about gardening is space and design. Space is important for many reasons. One reason is watering restrictions; they are just about everywhere. Spacing is important also in the design aspect. Need beauty in the space to bring it alive with the flowers. Not flowers, trees, and shrubs bringing alive the lot. It is the other way around. Space is needed in contemplation of design. Well-managed spaces make a yard. There is no alternate way.
Just look around in nature. Water is vital. The plants are spaced with respect to its distribution through the environment. To do a garden properly, the gardener needs to take this into mind. The water distribution and needs of the plants has to mirror nature, but take into account the environment of the price of water.
No matter how the water is delivered, water restrictions have to be included in the design of the garden. One way to do this is to make the garden compact. Utilizing plants that need very little water and are high in hardiness doesn't have to mean a sacrifice in beauty. Many flowering vines and shrubs need very little water or sun. Step out on a limb and try planting them in the design. Annuals need a lot of water for the most part, and even more sun.
Trees can take very little water and can be used to top off a well- designed flower garden. And they can reach for the needed sun to help them survive. Beautiful flowering trees exist and can add luster to the garden. Fruit trees, too, make a good addition to a garden. The beauty of a flowering fruit tree can add wealth and health to the garden.
To sum up, manage the space to make the yard beautiful. Section the yard and begin with the most difficult or the easiest, whichever your personality desires. Make the design not only fit. Revitalize the space. Add vines, trees, and shrubs to the idea of flowers or the existing foliage. And do it with the thought of watering your garden in mind. Keep gardening fun, and one part of fun is inexpensive. Who needs a hobby that costs ten thousand dollars a year in watering expenses?
Gardening is not easy, but it does not have to be impossible. With well-managed spaces, an entire yard can be beautified. With the right design, it can become something beyond compare.
