Are you a stay at home parent looking for a good way to make some extra money, and in the process exercise your skills with a worthwhile activity? Have you ever considered writing internet articles?

The internet is a superhighway of information on any subject you can think of. When people want to get information they use search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Ask, or a variety of others, to find out what they want to know. If a person is looking for information on how to get rid of mice, they will type -how to get rid of mice- in the search engine. This will prompt a variety of articles about the subject. When your article is clicked on read, advertisers pay the writer.

How can you make money writing articles? There are several ways to make money writing articles for products, services, and providing information on an infinite number of topics. In a nutshell, when an article is written and read, it generates income. That is the core of how it works.

When I began to learn about internet writing , I followed a complex trail of confusing directions, with no feedback, and no direction on how to really make it work. It was through a site that offered writers money to write articles on a variety specific products or programs. I never really grasped how it worked, only to find myself setting up all kinds of accounts and blogs, and well, it just wasn’t for me.

I found that the subjects were limited and very difficult to write for, and I did not feel comfortable. It was not fun either, and it showed in the writing. While that wasn’t for me, I still liked the idea of writing internet articles.

After reading an article in my local paper, about a woman who was earning money writing articles online, I followed a link and found Helium. That was in July of 2009, and I have been addicted to the site since the day I joined. What made the difference for me is the really user friendly site, that offers an infinite variety of topics to write about, as well as effective feedback that challenges. It is exciting to log in to see how good or bad your articles are doing.

The site encourages you to write about what you know! We are all experts on a variety subjects, including life experience. Write about what you love! If you’re a dad that knows a lot about coaching a baseball team, write about that. Do you know how many new coach dads need help with how to handle complaining parents? Maybe you’re a new mom, and you have some pregnancy tips you want to share?
