ALONE AT SEA
Silent rows of angry waves
Slap against the bow.
With just the movement of the stars
To show time is passing now.
Lightning flashes o'er the mast;
A crown of yellow fire
Lighting the empty, rolling seas
In the face of his desire.
What awaits the sailor
When at last he reaches shore?
Is the harbor safe and warm,
Or just a tight locked door?
It takes a cold, cold house
To set the sailor free,
And seeking once again
The warmth of any sea.
A sodden death beneath the sea
Is not the sailor's fear.
It's arriving home, safe and sound,
And finding she's not here.

Not quiet, nor too loud,
A thousand memories
The Water's Burn
Into frothy, rabid clutches sink
flocks of steaming young and old in horror.
Too dark to see in those coal
