Poetry: Friendship

Sometimes she's so far away
Hanging out with friends close by to her
And sometimes when I call
She's busy and can't talk
Sometimes I feel I am outside
Looking in on her
Watching her from afar
But she's always on my mind
I cherish her friendship everyday
She is only one of the few people
I hold very close to my heart in every way
And no matter where she goes
Or who she sees
I ask God to send my love to her
Though our opinions may be different
She is the sister I have always wanted
She knows more about me
Than any boyfriend I have ever had
She saw past my glasses
She saw past my braces
She stood next to me
When no one else would
She was with me for my first tattoo
Through many tears and laughs
Those silly boys may come and go
But I am forever thankful
For you my dear
I love you
