Tips for rating Helium articles

by Matthew Adams

Rating Helium articles is required for rating stars. So, to gain rating stars you will need to rate some articles. With better rating you will likely gain further rating stars. There are a few tips that are worth noting when rating Helium articles.

Let us first begin by noting that you should check both articles carefully. This does not mean that rating has to take a long time, but close attention to both articles should be given. So, do not rush rating.

Consider the overall formatting of the articles. This is something that can actually be checked quickly.  Articles that have too many spaces between paragraphs can be noted. Other articles may make good use of sub-headings and formatting options such as bullet points.

Some articles may include quotes and quotations. These are good to include for historical articles, but some can be too long. Quotes included should be fairly short, and of course should include some sort of reference. When rating good quotations are something to note.

Also consider checking any article links included within an article. Do they link where they are supposed too? Some articles may not link to these, and so this is something to note. Alternatively, some articles may benefit from including links if they have not been included.  Consider these articles and rate appropriately.

When rating you may also consider using the flag option, although admittedly this will not gain any rating stars. The flag option is available to report anything, or alternatively provide some appropriate feedback. The flagging options are included for things like off topic: that is if the article does not fit the title. You might also consider flagging an article if it is short of the minimum word count. Some articles can be too short, while some may actually be seemingly too long.

If you find when rating articles that there are two which you cannot really decide, then perhaps consider skipping rating. Do skip rating articles if this is the case, or alternatively to find titles and subjects that you prefer to rate. Skipping is fine, but you can only skip ten titles during rating.

Some articles may be leapfrogged articles. For these articles you are rating a modified article. With these, there should be some notable changes to an article. If you cannot notice any editing, then by all means rate the articles as the same. It should be noted that sometimes leapfrogged articles may just make some very minor editing.

Overall, these are a few good tips for rating Helium articles. Check the formatting and links included with articles, and skip over any articles if required. Also flag articles if they seem to be inappropriate.
