Who Would Know?
In Maui, and on the beach,
I sit on a large, black rock
against a flowing reef of lush, green plants
and I'm alone in my thoughts
Who would know
that I am broken?
Who would know
that I'm a grieving widow?
Who would know
that I'm searching
the depths of my soul
for answers, and for a new beginning?
People walk by and smile,
each in their own world.
A world like mine?
I appear to be a grown woman,
but inside a child,
dealing with grief and pain.
Comforted by God,
I continue to seek His will for my life.
Is my new journey to be alone, or shared?
I continue to trust and have faith.
Faith in the Rock whom I believe
is as solid
as the rock I'm sitting on.
Who would know that I'm a widow
leaning on the Rock?
I hope you do,
I hope you see Christ in me.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Nehemiah 8:10

The thunder whispers the voices I hear
