Christmas office party games

Planning a Company Christmas Party should be more involved than selecting a location and food choices. The holiday party should involve all members attending to keep it lively. As the party planner, team building and fun are top priority when deciding the entertainment. Party games are an easy and inexpensive way to spruce up any get-together. Some party game ideas are:

1. Word Games such as scrambled words and crossword puzzles are a great ice breaker. These games allow your guests to get seated and acquainted with those around them. Since it is a holiday party, use holiday words.

2. Pictionary - One way to make this family game more easily accessible for a large group of people is to list a group of pictures and your guests are to determine what they stand for. Select a holiday theme such as Christmas Songs. Some solutions can be quite funny as people try to interpret the drawings.

3. Baby Pictures - Have each employee bring in a baby picture. Post them in a book or on a posterboard. Assign a number with each picture. People guess who each picture is.

4. 3 Things About Me, You Do Not Know - Prior to the party, have each employee write on a slip of paper three things their coworkers may not know. At the party designate a reader. After all three items are read, people can guess who the mysterious person is. (Although you spend several hours a day with your co-workers, it is amazing how little you may know about them.)

5. Name that tune - Using holiday songs as your selection, make teams of employees. Each team needs to draw out the title of a Christmas Song. The team needs to present the song without singing the words. They can be creative by acting out a skit, humming, whistling and any other creative method of presenting the song, but all members need to be involved in the presentation. The other teams guess what song is being presented.

6. White Elephant - Have each attendee bring a $10 gift wrapped and not addressed to anyone in particular. Draw names for people to pick a present or steal a present from someone already holding a present until everyone has a gift.

To keep your guests motivated in playing the games (besides fun itself), you can present prizes to the winners. The prizes do not have to be expensive. Using your creativity, you can have real prizes and/or gag prizes (as long as nobody is offended.) The idea of the party is to have fun, socialize and team building.
